Chemical Dependency Program
Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents is a residential treatment facility specializing in behavioral health issues. Our program includes chemical dependency therapy for our residents as needed. Key components of the Horizon Program are as follows:
Introduction to the Chemical Dependency (CD) Program
Upon admission into the program, each resident will begin to explore past decisions related to use which have resulted in negative outcomes. This encourages the residents to determine what types of changes they want to make as well as gives them a sense of focus and direction as they develop their personal goals. Group therapy work occurs three times per week and includes education, processing, and experiential components.
The educational portion of each week is adolescent focused and addresses the assigned topic based on the Hazelden series concepts, current addiction research, and cultural trends in usage. Weekly processing will allow the sharing of journal homework assignments as well as receiving feedback from peers and therapist related to current issues in recovery. Lastly, activities provide an additional vehicle for experiential learning.
